This here is the theory on Blizzarians, a race of daredevil Canadian-speaking rabbit/coyote-like beings from the TV series Storm Hawks. The picture was done by SomniumAngel , not me, so she deserves the credit. Now, please note that this information is just a theory. It is just my imagination, and the show may, and possibly will, contradict what I have listed. SomniumAngel helped out by giving me some suggestions and constructive criticism, as well as the creation of the Merb Theory, which helped me make this. Thank you, SomniumAngel!

The Blizzarians


Blizzarian Physical Traits and Characteristics:

Male:
~ Average Height: 5’ 7”
~ Average Weight: 153 lbs.
~ Average Lifespan: 95 yrs.
~ Has thick, colored fur.
~ Males are often called Bucks.
~ Eye color varies between individuals.
~ Has standard reproductive organ, which is concealed in a pocket of fur until a time when it mates.
~ Upon mating, the male’s sebaceous scent gland, located near their reproductive organ, is activated. The male uses the secretion to mark its mate so that other males do not court the female.

Female:
~ Average Height: 5’ 6”
~ Average Weight: 135 lbs.
~ Average Lifespan: 90 years.
~ Has thick, colored fur.
~ Females are often called Does.
~ Eye color varies between individuals.
~ Hands are smaller with slimmer fingers than those of the male species.
~ Has wider hips and slimmer waist than males.
~ Has reproductive receiving glands concealed in a pocket of fur. Has standard humanoid internal reproductive organs.
~ Has humanoid breasts.

Both:
~ Blizzarians have light blue fur which pales around the muzzle. Hair color differs from actual fur color and varies between individuals. Fur on the tail, back of the hands, on the thighs, top of the toes, and top of the forearm matches a Blizzarian’s hair color. Also, hair does not grow past the nape of the neck.
~ Blizzarians have digitigrade style legs; however, their feet are flat on the ground.
~ Blizzarians also have three fingers, and one opposable thumb.
~ They have three clawed toes.
~ Blizzarians more hypersensitive hearing compared to other races. They also have high frequency hearing, which allows them to hear certain sounds that humans cannot.
~ They have short tails.
~ A Blizzarian’s tail and ears are considered erogenous zones.
~ Blizzarians are able to see much better in the dark than humans are.
~ Blizzarians have greater resistance to freezing temperatures, cold environments, and brain freeze from eating extremely cold food.
~ A Blizzarian’s teeth are often chipped, cracked, and jagged from eating frozen food.
~ Blizzarians are omnivores.
~ Their ears can be short like a coyote’s ears, or long like a rabbit’s ears.
~ Blizzarians howl to signal others and as a form of celebration.
~ Can only mate to reproduce within own species. However, there have been tales of a human/Blizzarian couple. This couple had several children, all of whom were Blizzarian, except two. The Blizzarian children had their human father’s hair and eye colors, while the human children had their Blizzarian mother’s hair and eye colors.

Behavior:
~ Living groups broken into three types:
1. Family: parents and offspring
2. Herd: group of families sharing the same surname
3. Tribe: group of 2 – 3 herds who travel together
~ Aside from spoken voice, each Blizzarian has a unique sound and scent which is used to identify them
~ Blizzarians are capable of running on all fours in order to get somewhere faster.
~ Blizzarians are a social species. Activities such grooming and foraging for food are done in groups. They are also known for being festive. They are very protective of their leverets, and entire communities will seek to rescue a lost or missing leveret.
~ Blizzarian females, when traveling in warmer areas, will often carry a parasol, although most of the time they will try to find shade. Males often wear hats or find shade.
~ Blizzarians enjoy relaxing in hot springs. There are no taboos against males and females bathing together, although sexual acts are considered impolite.
~ Blizzarians are capable of mating year-round. When a male is attracted to a female, he will circle her and make small delighted grunting noises. If the female shows interest the male will begin dancing for her. Dancing is a frolicking series of sideways kicks and mid-air leaps accompanied by a few head shakes and body gyrations. The male will also howl. If the female is impressed by his dance, she will follow him back to his home. When Blizzarians mate for the first time, the male’s sebaceous scent gland is activated and he marks the female. Often, in order to show a female that he is interested in her, a male Blizzarian will often send gifts and presents to his sweetheart. Delivering the gifts in person is not enough, according to Blizzarian traditions. When giving gifts, a Blizzarian male will open the present for his sweetheart. The same is true for females, as females will also give gifts to males.
~ Blizzarians mate for life. They are known for being deeply affectionate with their mates, i.e. pouncing one’s partner while nude. Even after death, a Blizzarian will not seek a new mate as they believe in a Soul Mate philosophy. Courting widows or widowers is extremely taboo.
~ Males will fight with one another to declare dominancy, usually over a female. Females have also been known to fight for various reasons. However, a Blizzarian will never kill another Blizzarian without a good reason. However, fighting doesn’t always involve punching someone. In fact, most often Blizzarian males will hold contests or races to prove who is better. This is true for female Blizzarians as well.
~ When threatened, a Blizzarian will first growl and snarl to ward off its enemy. When growling fails, the Blizzarian bears its jagged teeth and claws and will often snap at an enemy before attacking. Sometimes if growling and snarling fail, the Blizzarian will simply maul an enemy instead of snapping at them.
~ Aside from their animalistic tendencies, Blizzarians retain very human-like characteristics and mannerisms. Blizzarians are known for taking risks, even risks that are extremely foolhardy or dangerous. They are also known for their love of extreme sports, and many will perform risky daredevil stunts, especially when impressing a potential mate. Females are also known for being daredevils as well, although not as much as males are. In addition, Blizzarians are huge fans of rock’ n ’roll.
~ In Blizzarian society, females are often the leaders.

Terra Habitat:

~ Terra Blizzaris is a cold and snowy land. Blizzarians are at home here. There are some hot springs here.
~ Terra Blizzaris is home to the Blizzarian race. Derived from the word “blizzard,” this terra lives up to its name.
Terra Blizzaris is very cold and is avoided by humans and other anthromorphs because of its freezing temperatures. Blizzaris is a favored winter vacation spot for some people, but no one stays for long, save for the Blizzarians.
Terra Blizzaris is mostly snow and ice. The terrain is full of hills and mountains, but these too are snow capped. Large areas of smooth terrain can also be found which Blizzarians call “The Backcountry.” Nightly snowfall allows for fresh powder everyday which in turn encourages the natives’ rambunctious and adventurous stunts.
Blizzarians set up living communities at the bases of mountain rings where they are protected from intense winds and seasonal blizzards. They also lay claim to nearby hot springs which provide bathing facilities, relaxing social spots, and intimate accommodations.
~ Ice sculpting is a favorite pastime for many Blizzarians and is also how they build their homes.
